Work on client PDFs without uploading them anywhere.
Most online PDF tools require you to send the document to their servers. For a matter file, that means client material leaving your control and sitting on infrastructure you don't govern. PDFRange works differently: the processing happens inside your browser, on your own machine.
How it actually works
When you open a tool, your browser downloads the code that does the work. The document you choose is read into your computer's memory and processed there. It is never transmitted to us, so we hold no copy of it, cannot access it, and have nothing to retain, disclose, or lose.
Close the tab and the file is gone from memory. There is no account requirement to use the core tools, and no upload step at any point.
Why firms care about the difference
Confidentiality
Your duty of confidentiality doesn't pause because a task is administrative. Merging exhibits or stripping metadata still involves client material.
Fewer third parties
Every service that receives a file is another party in your data chain. Local processing removes one entirely.
Breach exposure
Under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme, a breach at a provider holding your client files can become your notification problem. A provider holding nothing can't leak it.
Hidden document data
PDFs carry author names, timestamps and file paths. A path like /Clients/Henderson-Divorce/ discloses another client to whoever receives the file.
The tools
All run locally in your browser. No upload, no account needed.
Worth reading before your next filing
A black box is not redaction — why covering text in a PDF doesn't remove it, and how blacked-out passages get copied straight back out of court documents.
What's hidden inside your PDF — the author names, timestamps and folder paths that travel with every document you send.
